Children need to explore outdoors

Read the passage below. Write a one-sentence summary of the passage. Your summary should be between 25 and 50 words. You have 10 minutes to finish this task.

Previously, children had plenty of time to play outside, but now many parents often urge them by saying, "Hurry up, don't be latefor class." As a result, children spend less time in nature and more time rushing between structured activities, losing opportunities to explore freely and enjoy the outdoors. This reduced contact with nature has consequences for children's development, as a lack of outdoor play limits creativity, physicalactivity, and emotional regulation. When schedules are filled with classes and academic pressure, children miss importantmoments to observe the world, build independence, and learn through sensory experiences. Balancing academic learning with outdoor experiences is essential to support healthy childhood growth. By allowing children more time in nature, families and communities can help them develop curiosity, resilience, and a stronger connection to the environment.
